Ms.Not-Rose, Acrylic On Canvas

Ms. Naughty Not-Rose
Wild
Mother Nature's neglected child
Not domesticated
Nevertheless paradoxically still living
For food & housing
Neither bulldozed nor nitrogen overdosed
Not even carbonized to fuel
For sake of a few hours cramped ride
On the highway
Or for the meal at the fireplace
Just a bit unintentionally
Say bilaterally damaged

In Natural History
Only recently noticed
And even upgraded
Thanks to genetic problems
Inherent in incest
That could endanger
Mankind’s Cash Crops & Monocultures

She, Ms Not-Rose although now more noticed
Even Coveted
Could nevertheless not help screaming
In a hard-rock jazzy ethno-erosion-fusion way
With industry chemicals & sewage cocaine
Running around her backyard & brain
This old passionate refrain

O Lord!
Not again
This pain!
This acid rain!
How am I going to sustain
My vision & my seed?
With the new Titans
Exploding & radiating their breed

Unchecked & unlimited their need
Selfish as any Jurassic & Cretaceous creed
Voracious than all predators indeed
On many a species
in all latitudes and all altitudes they do feed

And unaware of the insects contributions
To the life of the Angiosperms
Or to their own culture
They bilaterally decimate them
Short-sighted as ever the greed
Where all loose and none succeed
Now gone is my pollen carrying bee
They say it was the DDT
